Although we all may have an idea of what we think peach blush is in our minds, the category is more diverse than you think! There are several different shades of blush that are considered under the umbrella of “peach”. This can make selecting one a difficult task, but there is no need for fear! We have got you covered with our picks of the 15+ best peach blushes that will flatter a variety of skin tones!

WHAT SHADE OF PEACH BLUSH IS RIGHT FOR ME?

We think you can rock whatever shade you want, but if you are looking for some guidance, choosing one based on your skin tone can be helpful. Different shades of peach can complement and enhance different skin tones.

For those with lighter skin, a coral blush can work wonders! While orange-heavy blushes can often weigh your face down, going for a lighter coral can help warm the face up for a soft and glowy finish. If you have a cooler undertone, looking for something with hints of pink can be helpful as well, whereas warmer skin tones can try a darker peach.

For medium skin tones, apricot blushes are a great option. Brown blushes can often be too close to contour in color; therefore, opting for a beige peach can be the key! This can help create some definition without too much contrast between the two areas. If you have cooler undertones, apricot blushes with a bit of pink in them can be flattering, whereas warmer skin tones can stick with the darker apricot shade.

For darker skin tones, a deep orange can be best suited for you. Darker peach blushes can be stunning on darker skin tones and add a new dimension to your look. Finding one with a hint of gold can also serve as a substitute for a highlighter. Additionally, those with warmer undertones could try a bit of a purple hue in their blush, whereas cooler undertones can be best served with the rich, darker peach shade.

HOW AND WHERE TO APPLY BLUSH

As a general rule of thumb, blush is applied to the cheek and cheekbones where your face would naturally flush. But, if you want to be a pro about it, you can apply blush to different areas of your face depending on what you’re looking to achieve.

If you’re going for an au-natural look, apply your blush to the apples of your cheeks and blend upwards toward the temples and ears. You won’t want to build too much, either. Just a bit of blush with high-performance pigment will accomplish the natural look you’re going for.

You can use blush to lift your face and make it look more oval-shaped, if you know what you’re doing. For this look, you’ll want to apply the blush only to the back of your cheekbones and then sweep it upward toward your temples.

Blush can also be used to shorten your face. To do that, apply blush to the center of the apples of your cheeks and outward. Move toward your eyes but don’t blend too far toward the temples, because that’s going to create an elongated effect.

For a sun-kissed glow, apply the blush underneath your eyes, across the bridge of your nose and back towards the ear. In terms of color here, you’ll want to consider what color you turn when you tan (so peach may not be the answer here).

CREAM BLUSH VS LIQUID BLUSH VS POWDER BLUSH

Cream blush is exactly that: a cream. It can come in compacts, sticks, and tubes, and it’s usually applied using sponges, fingers, or a stippling brush. Typically easy to use, creams give you a lot of control over how much product you’re playing with. However, some creams dry quite fast, so you need to blend it into your skin quickly and before it dries.

Cream blushes are best for people who have dry or mature skin because they tend to be formulated with moisturizing ingredients that infuse the skin with hydration while they’re being worn. They also go on smoothly and don’t get caught in cracks or end up looking cakey. They’re also great if you like long-wear makeup because they tend to bind to the skin better and stay in place longer than powders.

Powder blushes are the only way we used to know blush. Most come in compacts and they’re applied with a fluffy round or angled brush. There are also loose powder blushes (which are a bit more difficult to use because it’s easy to put too much or too little onto your brush).

Powder blushes are a good choice for people with oily skin, because the powder tends to absorb oil and moisture and make the skin appear less greasy. If you want more of a shimmer with your brush, powders are the way to go, as cream blushes tend to dry more matte.

Last but not least are liquid blushes. These are relatively new to the market. They’re generally super sheer, blendable and soft. They can be applied using a stippling blush, but they take a bit of precision and know-how, so we only recommend these if you’re really good with makeup application.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Peach blush can be for everyone! No matter your skin tone, there is a shade for you if you are willing to look for it. Luckily for you, we have done most of the searching for you. Although we know that you can rock any shade you want to, if you’re looking for some direction, we recommend coral shades for lighter skin tones and deeper orange ones for darker skin tones, with an intermediary of the two for medium skin tones.
